Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy: Launching a New Era in Heart Health Research

It is with immense excitement that we announce the inaugural issue of our pioneering journal, Cardiovascular Diagnosis & Therapy (CDT), accessible at www.thecdt.org. Published quarterly in English by AME Publishing Company, CDT’s first issue showcases a diverse collection of articles from international experts, spanning a comprehensive range of topics within Cardiovascular Diagnosis And Therapy. Furthermore, it introduces our unique section, ‘Art and Medicine’ [1].

In a landscape already populated with numerous high-impact journals dedicated to cardiovascular disease, the launch of CDT is driven by a clear vision: to offer a distinctive platform defined by several key features.

  • ⬥ At its core, CDT is designed to be an interactive and dynamic tool, fostering the exchange of critical data and encouraging robust cooperation among researchers worldwide. Recognizing the increasing globalization of leading research institutions [2], CDT actively solicits submissions from a diverse array of countries and regions, particularly welcoming contributions from nations with emerging and developing economies. Our internationally diverse editorial board ensures that the peer-review process is sensitive to and inclusive of global perspectives and variations in research contexts.

  • ⬥ While English serves as the primary language of publication, CDT acknowledges the importance of global accessibility by providing selected content in Chinese (Mandarin). This bilingual approach aims to broaden readership, facilitating access for those more comfortable with Chinese, and offering authors the opportunity to disseminate their findings to a significantly wider audience in China and beyond.

  • ⬥ CDT leverages a cutting-edge publishing platform to ensure rapid and global distribution of published research. While maintaining a traditional print version (ISSN: 2223-3652), the journal’s primary presence is as an online, open-access resource (ISSN: 2223-3660). The journal website (www.thecdt.org) acts as a central hub, providing unrestricted access to all published articles, as well as supplementary materials such as interviews and visual content. The website is also engineered for interactivity, encouraging feedback and facilitating online discussions within the cardiovascular diagnosis and therapy community.

  • ⬥ To further amplify its reach, the CDT website is strategically linked with prominent international platforms including DXY (www.dxy.cn/) and MDLinx (www.mdlinx.com/). DXY, China’s largest online academic portal for medical professionals, boasts over five million users and 1.8 million daily page views. MDLinx curates medical articles from over 1,200 peer-reviewed journals and major news outlets daily. CDT’s content is also disseminated through social media channels like Facebook and Twitter, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement.

  • ⬥ CDT welcomes submissions across the breadth of cardiovascular medicine and surgery. Importantly, we actively encourage research in areas that are currently underrepresented in existing literature. This includes investigations into the complex interplay between socioeconomic and environmental factors and cardiovascular health, the far-reaching impacts of global climate change on heart health, the evolving relationship between conventional Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine in cardiovascular care, and the often-overlooked role of art in the healing process within medicine.

  • ⬥ A unique and insightful feature of CDT is our ‘Art and Medicine’ section [1], dedicated to exploring the intersection of art and medical practice, providing a holistic perspective on health and well-being.

To realize these ambitious objectives, CDT operates as an open-access journal, published both online and in print on a quarterly basis. We are committed to publishing original research, comprehensive review articles, and other scholarly contributions spanning the entire spectrum of cardiovascular medicine and surgery. We warmly invite submissions from both clinical and basic science researchers, fostering a dialogue between these critical areas of cardiovascular diagnosis and therapy.

Submission to CDT is entirely online, and our review process is meticulously streamlined to ensure a rapid turnaround time for authors. Accepted manuscripts are promptly posted ‘online first’ on the CDT website, guaranteeing immediate and unrestricted access to the latest findings in cardiovascular diagnosis and therapy. Furthermore, our online platform supports the inclusion of rich supplemental materials, such as expanded image sets and video content [3], enhancing the depth and accessibility of published research.

The publishers of CDT are actively engaged in securing inclusion in prominent scientific databases, including PubMed and Web of Science, with the goal of obtaining a significant impact factor as quickly as possible. This is a testament to our commitment to establishing CDT as a leading voice in the field.

We envision CDT evolving into a highly respected international resource for disseminating groundbreaking basic and clinical science data within cardiovascular medicine and surgery. To achieve this, CDT will leverage both traditional print distribution and established scientific search engines, while also strategically utilizing innovative social media platforms and online dissemination channels, with our journal website (http://www.thecdt.org) serving as the central and dynamic hub for the global cardiovascular diagnosis and therapy community.
