Creative Care, a leading residential mental health facility, has announced a strategic shift in its operations to better serve individuals facing mental health and dual diagnosis challenges amidst the ongoing pandemic. Recognizing the amplified strain on vulnerable populations, Creative Care has temporarily suspended operations at its Woodland Hills dual diagnosis facility. This decision allows them to concentrate resources and expertise on their robust mental health program located in Calabasas.
This strategic realignment underscores Creative Care’s enduring commitment to providing exceptional mental health services. Dr. Morteza Khalegi, co-founder of Creative Care, articulated the founding vision: “My wife and I aimed to establish a sanctuary for patients whose complex needs were often overlooked, leading to significant mental health struggles.” He further emphasized the resilience of Creative Care, stating, “Having navigated challenges like the Northridge earthquake, the 2008 recession, and the Woolsey Fire, we now face the global crisis of COVID-19 and persistent licensing complexities. Therefore, we have made the difficult yet responsible decision to temporarily pause our dual diagnosis program. These trials reinforce our core mission: to assist those in need, to deeply respect their journeys, and to foster a safer, healthier world.”
Looking ahead, Creative Care is actively planning to expand its mental health services with the opening of a new residential house. The temporary suspension of the dual diagnosis program is intended to be just that – temporary. Creative Care anticipates reopening its specialized dual diagnosis treatment facility in the future, contingent on the resolution of licensing matters.
